Techniques with colour pencils:
Cross-hatching techniqe involves drawing a set of parallel lines (hatching) and then drawing another set of parallel lines above it in another direction.

Scumbling technique involves drawing continuous circular patterns without lifting your pencil. It is mostly used to draw trees.
